“Every moment of learning is an opportunity to celebrate an accomplishment.”

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of students finding joy in the learning process as they strive for mastery of their skills. Mastering a skill-set involves careful planning, the development of strategies and tactics, and requires patience and discipline. These aspects can pose challenges and may sometimes discourage students. Therefore, I believe it is my responsibility to ensure that the learning process remains enjoyable and motivating, especially as students navigate through these challenges.

I recognize that every student has unique learning preferences and styles. Therefore, I encourage students to take an active role in shaping their lesson format. For instance, rather than imposing goals and materials based solely on my discretion, I empower students to select styles or tunes they enjoy and discuss their short-term goals. I then assist them in adapting new materials to align with their preferences and aspirations.

Additionally, as an educator, it is essential to identify and nurture students’ talents, even those they may not be aware of. While the ultimate goal of mastery should be ambitious, it is crucial to set achievable strategies and goals. This allows students to recognize their progress and growth along the way, rather than solely focusing on a distant long-term vision.

I believe that celebrating small achievements continuously is key to reaching larger goals. Every moment of learning and growth should be seen as an opportunity for joy and celebration.
