Judy Shin
pianist/composer/arranger/educator
Judy Shin is a contemporary pianist with a master’s degree in Piano Performance at Berklee College of Music, Valencia campus. Born in South Korea, Judy’s musical journey began at a young age with classical piano and progressed to receiving awards in city-wide and national competitions in Korea. At 16, she moved to the United States and started expanding her musical style, including but not limited to jazz, Latin, and pop. She completed two Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing&Production at Berklee College of Music as a recipient of Berklee’s Presidential Scholarship, a grant established to study at Berklee for four years, covering all tuition, housing, and fees. She was also awarded Summa Cum Laude at the completion of her undergraduate studies and received Outstanding Scholar Award at the completion of her graduate studies. Judy has participated in a number of recording projects as well as in live performances including Umbria Jazz Festival 2016. Judy has studied piano performance with Ray Santisi, Ross Ramsay, John Mulroy, Victor Mendoza, Polo Ortí, and studied writing & production with Bill Elliott and Joe Carrier. Judy is currently pursuing her career as a freelance performer, producer, and educator, in Seoul, South Korea.
